Christmas Batch Out!

This is an overdue post man! December is a month full of joyous events! The most memorable of all is of course...our very own student batch out!

Initially the school target at a figure of 50 turnout for the event, but we were so wrong! There was a turnout of 120 people that night at the White Tangerine Cafe! The response is overwhelming. On top of that, the weather is fabulous! I must say the night went pretty smoothly. The sad thing is I tried to make some roses for the performers which failed terribly!

We have got 17 performances that night by none other than our very own students. I am so sorry that I did not manage to take all the pictures of the performers that night as I was running around...but I got all the video clips...stay tuned for that.

MC of the night - Edmund Ng! He's good at it.

Yoshiko on her instrumental piece...

Peifen and Caleb with Ai Tai Yuan

Some jazz for night! Cheek to Cheek by Ryan+Rebecca

The aim of the gathering is to let students and instructors have the chance to mingle around and get to know each other better outside the classroom. It is also a chance for our students to have the opportunity to perform on stage. I know that it is like the first time performing on stage for many of the students. It is indeed an experience for all. Some did all the right things...some did all the right things during practise but not on the real thing itself. End of the day...it is the efforts that matter.

Denis had mentioned that there is no shortcut to improving...but practise and practise. For those who think they did well...do better next time! For those who think they did not do a great job...step up and improve on yourself. Life is all about experiencing and learning. We all start from zero. But I must comment that...the courage to step on the stage to perform is really commendable! Jiayou Jiayou and move forward ya!

Peiyuan who looks extremely happy...=p

Meiling who played the keyboard so well that night!

If there is a best outfit award...Pey Bin will be the winner! You look pretty pretty.

This is one of my favourite moments...the certificate presentation! It is a testimonial to the joint effort over the months which the students and instructors put in. I do not know the students felt upon receiving the certificates...but we feel so so proud for them. Especially for me...I will remember their faces when they first join the school....and the upcoming musicians they are going to be in the future. It truly means something to me.

Ok! Some other highlights...

My bosses...Denis+Simon and invited guest Ivan Da Ge

Don't you think they look soooooo alike?

Thank you Keith for the cake! It was very very delicious!

Zhang Yan got away with the first prize!

Hope everyone enjoyed that night as much as we do. We will look forward to the next one. Meanwhile....work hard!
