Renci Food Fesita 2009!

As I said in the previous post, we are packed like sardines this year. Right after the performance on Saturday night for the 'Butterfly Dreams', we have the Renci Charity Food Festival Performance on Sunday! Oh my...and what a hot day it is! We keep singing, sweating and vice-versa. Thank you Renci Hospital for inviting us once again!
The Mother and Son combination. Jake and Zhang Yan..both looking great!
Our very cool keyboardist...Fred! Smile boy!
Joseph! Great Effort boy....=)
Joseph, Neo, Jacyl and Meijun practising ‘手牵手'
The last group of the day with Taiwei, Zhiyuan and Wing Kee joining in.
I had always enjoyed performing for the Food Fesita since years ago. The audience are always so responsive and generous with their donations. The students recieve little gifts and drinks from the audience who appreciate their performances. These little gestures from the audience always drives us working harder and better. I would say most students' stage presence and confidence has improved after much exposure. I would hope they will continue to strive for excellence.

Upcoming will be our 2nd outlet at Chinatown Official Opening and the Red Cross Charity Event happening on the same day! Go Go Go!

Lastly....Thank you Renci and all the kind souls in the world.

Butterfly Dreams!

This month is extremely packed for us. The 'Butterfly Dreams' musical had just ended with a huge success. It is full house for the 2 shows! I am sure it is a very enriching experience for all of us involved; all the rehearsals, the late nights, practices and working with professionals.

I do hope the students will find everything worthwhile despite the stressful moments. This is afterall the entertainment industry, people come with expectations, and we all have to step up our game. But I thought all of them pull it off very well...we are so proud!

The musicians. Alex in green is going to have his own concert soon.
During rehearsals

Erm.....Zhiyuan...WAKE UP!!!

Actual Show...Beautiful People...
YEH! Its over....and its a SUCCESS!!!

July @ SAM - 3's not a crowd!

This July @ Singapore Arts Museum, we bring you:

3's Not A Crowd

Here's a little something about them, from them!

about the band...
Formed in 2006, we’re an acoustic band consisting of 2 guys and a girl. 3’s never a crowd for us because we have fun, enjoy the spontaneity of impromptus as we jazz up old classics, turn up the heat with the occasional rock song, and melt your hearts with romantic ballads.

about the members...

Jason Wong
Jason keeps the groove with the cajon (percussion). He can sing and play the guitar too (lead or rhythm). He’ll mesmerize you with his strong interpretation of classic and Cantonese pop songs.

Ong Yutong
Our very own vocalist. When she sings, there is the sexiness (jazz and soul), the edge (rock), the heart melting (ballads). The versatility of not only style, but languages- English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, and even Malay! She’s also keeping up the beat with the shaker.

Wong Longhui
Our very own funky guitarist. Has a knack for improvising and rearrangement of songs, he’ll vamp it up with his various styles of playing - fingerstyle, bossanova, rock and folks. He’ll even charm your pants off with his voice.

This trio has since performed in numerous festivals, corporate events and even on live radio! So come catch them for yourself

25 July 2009, Saturday
8pm - 9.30pm @
Singapore Arts Musuem Auditorium

BUTTERFLY DREAMS 梦蝶。叠梦

This is the production which our school's students and instructors whom have the honour of taking part in.

I had watch this production last year myself, and I thought it was very great and the deliverance is very sincere despite working under a tight budget. It was even better than some musicals I had watched by big names in the esplanade hall. This year 2009, with more resources and talents, it can only be better.

"BUTTERFLY DREAMS 梦蝶。叠梦 " will be shown on 25th July 2009 ( Saturday ) 3pm & 8pm @ victoria theatre.The TICKET HOTLINE is 63326919.

You will not want to miss it. Be amazed and inspired!

Xinyao @ SAM for May - D.O.U.B.L.E V.O.IC.E.S

This month, to kickstart our 2009 performances of Xinyao @ SAM (Singapore Arts Museum), we bring you:

DOUBLE VOICES, 双声带

A little about them:

"
All these years, Roy & Jamie have been singing in Min Ge Can Ting (Cafe with live performance). Having the passion & support we have in music, we have decided to produce our album, DoubleVoices. Producing DoubleVoices is not as easy as we thought it would be without any background & experience in song writing and music production. We would sincerely like to thank our friends for their tremendous help/support and valuable advice along the way. We do hope that there will be another album after DoubleVoices and we believes that we are not alone. DoubleVoices, as long as there is music, our passion never dies."

Come lend your support to local music, and to the duo, at

Singapore Arts Museum Auditorium, 30 May 2009 Saturday, 8pm - 9.30pm.

Tickets are priced at $10.00, and available for sales at Echo Music School.
Simply give us a call at 6226 7479, or email us at info@echomusic.com.sg to order your tickets.

There will be different artistes for the following months for the Xinyao Series; for June we have Monsters in the house, and for July, Three's a Crowd.

But for now, let Double Voices take you on that first chapter of this music series.
